Disasters can strike without warning. That is why it is important to be ready for an emergency.

The Office of Emergency Management ensures that the ��ϲ�� is prepared for, can respond to, and can recover from a disaster or major emergency.

During a disaster or emergency, stay up-to-date by checking out the City's or accounts, the City website, or by phoning 311.

What You Can Do

Individuals, families and businesses can do their part by being personally prepared and by ensuring their emergency plans and business continuity plans are in place.

Stay informed during an emergency by monitoring local radio, television and social media
Sign up to receive to keep you informed of potential risks to your health, safety or community
- Subscribe to receive alerts directly on your phone or computer via an Android App, iOS App, X (formerly Twitter), Facebook or RSS feed
If you have an LTE-capable device such as a smartphone or tablet, you can also receive an Alert Ready message
- The system allows governments across Canada to send important public safety messages to compatible mobile devices during an emergency

9-1-1: Emergencies - fire, ambulance, police, hazardous material spills.

8-1-1: Health information and advice, 24-hours a day, from an Alberta Health Services’ registered nurse.

7-1-1: Relay service allows deaf people to converse with the hearing over the phone through an operator.

5-1-1: Road reports and traffic conditions.

3-1-1: City government information for transit and program registration, as well as sewer and interpretive services. Anyone requiring fire, ambulance or police emergency assistance must call 9-1-1.

2-1-1: The Support Network - single access point to health, human services, community resources and government assistance people need every day as well as in times of crisis.
