Methods of Payment

The ÁùºÏ²ÊÂíÀ´Î÷ÑÇ offers several convenient options for paying for Licence and Permit fees:

In Person

Payments for the following items are accepted at the ÁùºÏ²ÊÂíÀ´Î÷ÑÇ Service Centre. Please remember to provide the invoice or bill.

  • Business Licences
  • Mechanical Permit
  • Building Permit
  • Parking Fine
  • Business Taxes
  • Parks and Recreation Billing
  • City Property Rental Bill
  • Property and Meter Permit
  • Development Permit
  • Property Taxes

The City no longer accepts payments for Alberta Health Services Ambulance Bills. These payments (cheque or money order) should be sent to: Alberta Health Services, PO Box 1260, ÁùºÏ²ÊÂíÀ´Î÷ÑÇ Main, ÁùºÏ²ÊÂíÀ´Î÷ÑÇ, AB, T5J 2M8.

Payment Types

We accept the following payment types: Cash, Personal and Company Cheques, Money Orders, Bank Debit Cards (Interac), Visa, MasterCard, and American Express.

If applying by email, or mail, a service representative will call you to advise you of your fees.

Permits/Licences are not issued until all fees have been paid.

Electronic Funds Transfer

Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) can be used to pay for City services such as permits, licences and land development applications. It’s limited to payments of $10,000 and over. Partial payments are not allowed with this payment option.

To make EFT payments:

  1. Complete the  to receive ÁùºÏ²ÊÂíÀ´Î÷ÑÇ banking information and process instructions
  2. Consult with your financial institution, should you require an EFT online banking account

Payment Card Security Policy

The ÁùºÏ²ÊÂíÀ´Î÷ÑÇ, in accordance with the Payment Card Industry security standards, has taken measures to protect your payment card information.

We are required to delete applications submitted with credit card information by unsecured methods such as fax or email.

If fee payment is required as part of your application, we accept cash, debit, cheque or credit card. If applying by fax, email or mail, a service representative will call you to advise you of your fees.

Payment Exceptions

We will not accept Visa, MasterCard or American Express payments on business or property taxes.

Credit card payments are accepted for amounts $10000 or less.

The alternative payment options for these applications are cheque, bank draft and Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT).
